Micro
Needling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, tone, and firmness.
Microneedling offers a versatile and effective approach to addressing various skin concerns, with results that can improve overall appearance.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. These controlled micro-injuries stimulate the body's natural wound healing process, leading to increased collagen and elastin production, which can improve skin texture and firmness.
What skin concerns does microneedling address?
Microneedling can help with a variety of skin concerns, including acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, rosacea, uneven skin tone, and texture irregularities.
Is microneedling painful?
The level of discomfort during microneedling can vary depending on the individual's pain tolerance and the depth of the treatment. Topical numbing cream is typically applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort.
How long does it take to see results?
Results from microneedling usually become noticeable within a few weeks to a few months after the procedure. However, multiple sessions may be needed to achieve optimal results, especially for more severe skin concerns.
How often should I get microneedling treatments?
The frequency of microneedling treatments depends on the individual's skin concerns and the recommended treatment following your initial consultation. Generally, treatments are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Is there any downtime after microneedling?
Mild redness and swelling are common after microneedling, but these side effects typically subside within a few days. Some people may experience slight peeling or dryness as the skin heals. It's important to follow post-treatment instructions provided by your skincare professional including UV sun protection.
Can microneedling be combined with other treatments?
Yes, microneedling can be combined with other treatments such as topical serums, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), or intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy to enhance results. We will discuss this with you thoroughly during your consultation.
Is microneedling safe for all skin types?
Microneedling is generally safe for most skin types, but it may not be suitable for individuals with certain skin conditions, such as active acne, eczema, or psoriasis. This will be assessed at consultation but can also form part of a pre consultation conversation if unsure.
What's the cost?
The treatment is set at $350 for microneedling with serum at 1hr 15 with consultation or 1 hr for second treatment onwards
